On 17th January, 1915, the 2nd King’s Royal Rifle Corps battalion of 2 Brigade, 1st Division moved into trenches at Cuinchy near La Bassée where they remained until relieved two days later. Frederick Woolf died from wounds on 20th January but the battalion diary provides no further information concerning his death. |
